(an unlisted public company engaged in the manufacturing of white sugar & molasses), Ranipur Sugar Mills (Pvt.) Ltd. (a private limited company engaged in the manufacturing white sugar & molasses), Pakistan Corporate Restructuring Company Ltd. Ltd. which is the parent company of other six (6) companies i.e. Al-Haj Automotive (Pvt.) Ltd. (authorized manufacturer of Proton Cars in Pakistan), Al-Haj Faw Motors (Pvt.) Ltd.     Worked as CFO & CS in Team A Ventures Pvt. Ltd. (TAV) since April, 2014 & its group company Children Clothing Retail (Pvt.) Ltd. (CCR) since November 2021 till April 0222. TAV is the Franchisee /Distributor of famous international brands in Pakistan namely Debenhams, Next, Accessorize, Monsoon, Crocs, Timberland, Fitflop, Havaianas & Yves Roucher along with its own
    footwear brand ACT operating through fourteen (14) (pre-Covid forty (40) ) retail outlets across
    Pakistan. TAV is also operating its own multi-brand footwear chain named SUPERFEET. CCR is the owner of multi-brands children clothing chain named Cotton Candy operating through five (5) retail outlets across Pakistan. Structurally it’s a second man’s position in the organization managing the entire finance, accounts, audit, tax, corporate affairs, legal and supply chain functions including warehousing & imports on a day to day operational matters and long-term strategic planning. Since each brand had a dedicated team with a brand head responsible for the entire p&l and separate & unique arrangement/agreement with each principal therefore effectively the role is of Group CFO.

    Worked as CFO in Fauji Oil Terminal & Distribution Company Ltd. (FOTCO) from November 2006 till October 2013. FOTCO , an unlisted public limited company is a joint venture between Infraavest Ltd. of Singapore and Fauji Foundation and is engaged in managing and operating a 100 million US$ Marine Oil terminal at Port Bin Qasim, Karachi for loading/un-loading Crude, Furnace and High Speed Diesel Oils.

    As CFO of the company was responsible for all the financial aspect of the company. Specifically my responsibilities include:
    -dealing with internal and external auditors;
    -dealing with supplier and customers;
    -ensuring accurate & timely financial reporting;
    -dealing with tax authorities and consultants;
    -dealing with corporate & tax lawyers;
    -dealing with financial institutions;
    -managing funds of approximately Rs. 2 billion;
    -preparing annual budget; -cost control;
    -developing financial models/feasibilities for new projects in the vicinity of US$ 50 to 500 million relating to
    Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Refinery, New Oil and Coal& Clinker Terminals etc.;

    I worked as General Manager Finance (CFO) in Unicol Limited since April 2006 till November 2006.
    Unicol limited, an unlisted public limited company is a joint venture between three public listed companies
    and is engaged in the managing and operating a distillery to produce fuel ethanol.

    I was reporting to the Chief Executive Officer / Board of Directors and my responsibilities include:
    -development of capital expenditure plan;
    -ensuring proper funding for the project both from internal resources i.e. shareholder’s equity and external
    source i.e. bank financing etc.;
    -ensuring strict cost control over capital expenditure;
    -monitor the progress of the project on behalf of the board;
    -establish an effective back office operations right from the setting up of the company’s head office and
    hiring of the required staff till the development of the policies and procedures etc.;
    -dealing with tax authorities including income tax, sales tax and excise duty;
    -dealing with suppliers and consultants;
    -dealing with financial institutions etc.

    Worked as Finance & Administration Manager (CFO) and Company Secretary in TOTAL OIL PAKISTAN (PRIVATE) LTD. (formerly TOTAL ATLAS LUBRICANTS PAKISTAN (PRIVATE) LTD. since June, 2002 till March, 2006. TOTAL OIL PAKISTAN (PRIVATE) LTD. is a subsidiary of TOTAL S.A. of France which is one of the largest oil Company of the world.

    As CFO I was reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and was a very influential member of the management team who was actively involved in the decision making process whether day to day routine matters or long and short term business planning along with managing the Corporate Affairs, Administration, Human Resource & Information Technology function of the organization. Structurally, my position was of second man in the organization and use to be the acting CEO in his absence.

    Specifically, for finance function my responsibilities include:
    -ensuring proper maintenance of books of accounts;
    -dealing with internal and external auditors;
    -dealing with suppliers and customers;
    -ensuring efficient and effective internal controls throughout the organization;

    Specifically, for administrative function my responsibilities includes cost effective and efficient administration of Head office located in Karachi and sales offices and warehouses spread over various location across Pakistan by ensuring :
    -proper staffing;
    -proper staff training;
    -proper working condition etc.

    Specifically for HR function my responsibilities include:
    -indentifying headcount requirement across the organization;
    -getting headcount approval from the relevant authority;
    -ensuring timely & suitable hiring in a transparent and efficient manner;
    -ensuring necessary induction program;
    -maintaining accurate and efficient personal record;
    -ensuring market based compensation package across the organization;
    -ensuring timely and relevant evaluation reports;
    -ensuring smooth exit of the outgoing employee etc.

    Manager Accounts & Administration and Control Advisor

    Worked as Manager Accounts & Administration and Control Advisor from August, 2001 till June, 2002 in
    Mobil Askari Lubricants Limited, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Inc., USA which is the largest corporation of the world.

    I was reporting to the Chief Executive Officer / Financial Controller and Regional Control Advisor (based at regional office in Singapore)

    For Accounting function, my responsibilities include:
    -all the accounting functions right from the preparation of vouchers to the reporting both internal and external, costing, dealing with internal and external auditors, suppliers and distributors;
    – handling all the tax (both income & sales) and excise duty matters which include filing of returns, dealing
    with consultants and government authorities and preparation of various requirement for these authorities;
    – maintenance of books of accounts and managing the funds of Provident Fund;
    – analyses of various management report on behalf of the management etc.

    For Administration function, I was responsible for efficient administration of the Head office located in Karachi, factory located in District Hub, Balochistan and regional offices located in Islamabad and Lahore in accordance with the operational guidelines from the regional office.

    For Control Advisory function, my responsibilities include:
    -development and ensuring sustained operational and financial controls across the company as per the worldwide corporate policies & procedures and guidelines from the regional offices;
    -advising on various control issues raised by different departments or by reacting proactively on any control

    Worked as Manager Accounts from December, 1997 till August, 2001 in Merck , Sharp & Dohme of
    Pakistan Limited , a subsidiary of Merck & Co. , Inc. USA , which is one of the largest pharmaceutical corporation in the world.

    I was reporting to the Director Finance who consequently reporting to the Managing Director. I was responsible for all the accounting functions right from the preparation of voucher to the reporting both
    internal and external, including a portion of budgeting and forecasting, costing which also includes development of standard cost, implementation of new accounting software, dealing with the external and internal auditors , suppliers and distributor.

    I was also responsible for maintaining the books of accounts and managing the fund of Provident Fund and Worker’s Profit Participation Fund.
