I oversee the complete spectrum of administration and IR matters for a workforce of over 1,600 employees operating in a 24/7 dyeing and printing setup. My role involves ensuring the smooth functioning of key production departments, including Dyeing, Printing, Bleaching, Finishing, and Folding, through effective coordination and administrative support.
I manage the end-to-end handling, documentation, and centralized sale of scrap across nine units, while also supervising canteen and mess operations to maintain hygiene standards, food quality, and cost efficiency. By implementing robust SOPs, I drive administrative control, preventive maintenance of assets, and cost optimization across the mill.
A critical part of my responsibilities includes monitoring labor discipline, attendance, and grievance management in close coordination with HR and IR teams. As Manager Administration & IR, I was responsible for overseeing the complete administration and industrial relations functions of two mills under the Ghulam Faruque Group, employing more than 1,500 workers. My role encompassed housekeeping, scrap and vendor management, and ensuring compliance with legal and statutory requirements. I managed labor court and legal matters, including land disputes, gratuity and reinstatement claims, while also representing the company in various cases and maintaining close coordination with legal advisors. I liaised extensively with government departments such as EOBI, SESSI, and the Labor Department to ensure compliance and resolve issues, while maintaining strong working relations with the Workers’ Union (CBA) through effective negotiations, dispute resolutions, and grievance handling. In addition to labor-related responsibilities, I supervised the company’s extensive residential colony, which included executive bungalows, staff accommodations, family quarters, and fully equipped guest houses, while also ensuring the smooth functioning of amenities such as the canteen, messes, parks, ponds, and even a zoo comprising over 270 animals and birds. I was further entrusted with monitoring the water supply from the canal to the Sugar Mill, Paper Mill, and Unicol Pvt. Ltd., and managing a fleet of more than 100 vehicles to support company operations. I also supervised the maintenance and repair of all facilities, machinery, equipment, and infrastructure across the mills, ensuring smooth operations and cost-effective management.
